Nexgrid Begins Shipping New Product

Nexgrid announced that it has begun shipping its ecoSwitch SL product.

2/12/2013 - Nexgrid, a leading provider of advanced metering and smart grid infrastructure based on open-standards, today announced that it has begun shipping its ecoSwitch SL product.

The ecoSwitch SL is a direct replacement for the standard photocell on street lights. It wirelessly communicates with Nexgrid’s patent pending "Multi-Mesh" wireless network and has current sensing and a built-in relay for automation and monitoring of street lights. The ecoSwitch SL can be managed in real-time through Nexgrid’s ecoOne software, enabling power companies and Municipalities to maintain fine-grained control of when lights run and at what level of intensity, greatly reducing power costs. It provides maintenance notification, and energy consumption data, bulb status and more, enabling Utilities to reduce operating costs.

"Our smart grid solution is based on the premise that open-standards and high bandwidth enable advanced applications to improve internal operations, reduce costs, and enhance end-user experience", said Costa Apostolakis, Founder and CEO of Nexgrid. He added "the ecoSwitch SL is a prime example of this. Our Utility customers today are adding tremendous value by deploying this product and managing it seamlessly from the familiar ecoOne smart grid management software."
