Nexgrid Integrating with Fujitsu “WisReed” Communication Technology
6/4/2013 - Locust Grove, VA. June 4th, 2013 - Nexgrid, a leading provider of advanced metering and smart grid infrastructure based on open standards, today introduced the industry’s most advanced smart grid infrastructure with the integration of WisReed, Fujitsu's autonomous distributed network technology, and Nexgrid’s ecoNet™ smart grid gateway products. The integration is the first achievement through joint efforts by Nexgrid and Fujitsu over the past 9 months in developing a strategic partnership to bring greater benefits to utility providers and their customers.
“We are excited to be working with Fujitsu to incorporate WisReed in our products” said Costa Apostolakis, CEO and Founder of Nexgrid. “This integration will enhance the performance, security and routing capabilities on our street light mountable gateways. Through this partnership, we hope to deliver greater innovation in the smart grid and advanced metering market. Together, we'll work to deliver a compelling new experience to our customers.''
Fujitsu WisReed is used by utility providers worldwide and as a scalable platform without any compromise on communication performance and system reliability. WisReed is ad hoc communication technology that enables the automatic construction of a network without any settings. It is capable of auto restoration in the event of a failure and adapts to changes in the surrounding network environment.
The ecoNet WisReed gateways will be commercially available in the latter half of 2013.
